Ms. Duke tells stories about her crazy, fetch-obsessed French Bulldog mix, Gus in class all the time. Now is your child's chance to meet the famous pup! We'll meet at Westcrest Dog Park for fetch and fun with Gus. Then, we'll head up to the brand new playground on the west side of the park so kids can play and have a picnic lunch. Do you want to build a snowman? Miss Peterson and Miss Sarah invite students to join us in watching Frozen in Miss Peterson's classroom! We will watch the movie and do a Frozen craft. Themed snacks will be provided. Feel free to dress up like Elsa and Anna, the teachers might even dress up too!

Healthy cooking with the principal for one hour after school from 2:10pm-3:15pm. Come make a healthy meal with the principal. See how easy it can be! We will be making a healthy taco salad, guacamole, salsa, a a healthy dessert. This is open to a group of 10 students. Students will bring their meal home to share with you!

What: Mini book club and Skype with the author Where: Madison Middle School Library When: Monday, May 22nd from after school, 2:15-3:15 Who: 5th graders who will be heading to Madison Middle School next year What book: "The Honest Truth" by Dan Gemeinhart The kids will need to read the book. There will be a quick tour of the library, a mini-book club and then a Skype question and answer session with the author to last about 30'. Visit will wrap up about 3:15.

Jordin came to talk with the Lafayette students last spring, and again in fall 2016 to kick off the Marathon Club. He encouraged all Lafayette Leopards to aspire to their best performance! The clinic will be held on the Lafayette field. Marathon Club volunteer/Lafayette parent Aimee Corr and School Nurse Mary K Sykes will assist with this activity.

In this teacher experience, you'll explore your original ideas for a lyrical creation and then put those ideas to pen and paper. When you're done, we will record your musical inspiration with you, and you will have your very own musical masterpiece! At this experience you will... • Write on your own or with a friend. • Bring your own instrument or percussion -- or not. • Come ready with an idea you want to write about, or be inspired on the spot! • Complete your lyrics, set them to music, and record a version of your very own song! • Get a CD of the recording session!
